FML Designer Spotlight: AZALI
AZALI means eternal.
Not in the sentimental sense, but in the architectural one. The name sets the tone for a brand focused on longevity in design, mindset, and identity.
Founded by Sanah Ali and Talleda Rasheed, AZALI redefines contemporary occasionwear through the lens of culture and conscious creation. The two founders, mothers and former corporate professionals, built the label from personal experience. They understood ambition and authority in professional spaces, yet rarely saw clothing that reflected their full identities as women of Arab and South Asian heritage. They wanted garments that felt powerful without abandoning cultural nuance. AZALI became that answer.
The brand merges Eastern artistry with Western tailoring. Structured shoulders, clean lines, and precise cuts meet intricate embroidery, rich textiles, and references drawn from Arab and South

east Asian craft traditions. The result is occasionwear that feels considered and grounded in heritage while remaining modern and relevant.
AZALI designs for women who lead with presence. Its silhouettes are sculptural but wearable. Architectural draping frames the body with intention. Embellishment is deliberate, never decorative for the sake of excess. Each piece is created to stand on its own, offering impact without noise.
At the core of the label is the idea of elevated power dressing, a phrase first coined by 7×7 Magazine and now central to AZALI’s identity. The concept is direct. Clothing should strengthen how a woman feels when she walks into a room. Tailoring sharpens posture. Thoughtful construction shifts confidence. Dressing well is not vanity. It is alignment.
The A/W 2025 2026 collection continues this approach. Structured silhouettes meet softer draping. Exaggerated proportions highlight strength through shape rather than exposure. The collection is a study in balance, presenting femininity as both composed and commanding. It speaks to women who value subtle authority over performance.

AZALI operates on a limited production model, releasing pieces in small quantities and rarely reproducing sold out styles. This approach reflects a commitment to slow fashion and intentional buying. Each garment is designed to endure in quality and relevance, encouraging women to invest in pieces they will return to, not replace.
The brand’s upcoming retail debut with Wolf & Badger marks a significant step forward. Known for supporting independent luxury designers and ethical production, the global retailer provides AZALI with an international platform aligned with its values. As inventory arrives and the collection becomes available in store and online next month, the brand moves from emerging label to serious contender in the luxury space.
AZALI represents a new direction for modest fashion. Intentional. Modern. Confident. It honors heritage without being bound by it and embraces structure without sacrificing femininity.
In a market driven by constant change, AZALI focuses on permanence. Not as nostalgia, but as strength.
