SAINT SATINE Arrives: Inside HYBE x Geffen’s New Global Girl Group Formation

By Deki Namgyal

After months of speculation and growing anticipation, HYBE x Geffen Records have officially unveiled their newest girl group: SAINT SATINE.

Revealed during the finale of WORLD SCOUT: THE FINAL PIECE, a Japanese televised audition series on ABEMA, the four member group brings together rising talent from the United States, Sweden, Brazil, and Japan.

Emily (U.S.), Lexie (Sweden), Samara (Brazil), and Sakura (Japan) make up the lineup. Sakura secured the final spot after emerging from a pool of more than 14,000 applicants.

The finale also introduced SAINT SATINE’s sound through the two-track release World Scout: The Final Piece – Finale.

If “PARTY b4 the PARTY” captures SAINT SATINE at their boldest, “WE RIDE” reveals a softer side. Inspired by the silky textures of early 2000s R&B, it pairs smooth production with layered harmonies and a more understated melodic tone.

PARTY b4 the PARTY,” featuring Sakura alongside Emily, Lexie, and Samara, leans into high energy pop driven by booming bass, sharp vocal interplay, and a restless pulse. The accompanying performance video highlights how naturally Sakura integrates into the group’s dynamic.

WE RIDE,” featuring finalist Ayana alongside Emily, Lexie, and Samara, shifts into a more reflective R&B-leaning sound built on warm textures and relaxed instrumentation.

Even the group’s name reflects the duality at the core of their concept. “SAINT” speaks to charisma and performance strength, while “SATINE” evokes softness and elegance, a contrast that defines the group’s aesthetic identity from the outset.

SAINT SATINE also follows the success of KATSEYE, the breakout global girl group born from HYBE x Geffen’s earlier audition project. That initiative first launched in 2021 and drew over 120,000 applicants from around the world, eventually becoming the foundation for the Dream Academy process and the Netflix series Pop Star Academy: KATSEYE. Since debuting, KATSEYE has gone on to earn award nominations and international chart attention, reinforcing HYBE x Geffen’s position as a major force in shaping globally formed pop acts.

With an already devoted online fanbase, a polished debut rollout, and the backing of one of music’s most powerful label partnerships, SAINT SATINE arrives with expectations already attached…and momentum already building.
