K-POPS! Soundtrack and Film Announced by Anderson .Paak
Anderson .Paak is moving deeper into storytelling, blurring the line between soundtrack and world building. K-POPS! arrives as both a 17 track soundtrack and feature film from .Paak, marking a dual release that spans music and cinema. The soundtrack drops May 29, 2026, one day before the film premieres on Netflix on May 30.
Rather than functioning as a traditional soundtrack, the project is designed as a standalone listening experience alongside the film, shaped through a wide network of global collaborators and genre crossing sounds.

At the center is a fictional Seoul based K pop competition show that explores family, identity, and generational connection through music. The project also carries a personal layer, with .Paak starring in the film alongside his son, Soul Rasheed, who makes his musical debut on the soundtrack, adding a generational thread that runs through the project.
JID and G Dragon sit alongside aespa and NMIXX, DEAN, SOYEON of i-dle, HONGJOONG of ATEEZ, Joshua of SEVENTEEN, and Kevin Woo across the project, with .Paak woven throughout as both a performer and creative anchor. Each track feels less like a standalone moment and more like a meeting point where genres, scenes, and cultures blur into one shared space.
Executive production is led by Dem Jointz, a GRAMMY Award winning producer and songwriter known for his work with artists including Eminem and Jennie of BLACKPINK. His production style brings a layered, experimental edge that anchors the project’s wide ranging sound, giving the soundtrack a cohesive sonic identity despite its diverse cast of collaborators.

Alongside him, .Paak also contributes to production, joined by additional collaborators across the soundtrack, reinforcing a multi genre, collective approach to sound where no single voice dominates the world being built.
Early releases like “Keychain” with aespa and “Aftertaste” featuring DEAN offer a first glimpse into that world, while the reworked “Too Bad” with G Dragon revisits a track that previously charted on the Billboard Global 200.
More than a soundtrack, K-POPS! feels like a statement of intent. A project where .Paak dissolves the boundary between soundtrack and story, creating a world where music and film are not separate forms, but part of the same unfolding narrative. Tune in on May 29th when the soundtrack arrives on all streaming platforms and May 30th when the film premieres on Netflix!
